Laura's prior career spanned some 20 years in the insurance industry, both in the UK and in France, managing insurance programmes for large multinationals, coordinating and overseeing the service provided by the local broking or underwriting partners to the clients' local subsidiaries, and translating insurance policies, contracts and miscellaneous business documents.
On returning to the UK after 4 years in Paris, she undertook a university degree in Language Studies, which she passed with First Class Honours, before returning to the world of insurance, going on to pass the Institute of Linguists' Diploma in Translation in 2007 whilst working as an insurance broker.
She has been working full-time as a freelance translator since 2011.
